With a heavy heart I want to let all of you who have supported me with prayers of healing for my son.
Friday December 7th 2007, he lost his battle with brain cancer that he had been fighting since 2003. He was 55 years old. I found him when he was 26 and had the priviledge of knowing him for 29 years. That is a blessing since many separated by adoption never get to find or know their lost loved ones.
I was not able to be with him when he passed. I arrived at the Hospice Center only to find out he died early in the morning.
His wife has inforned me that there will be a memorial service for him some time in January after the holidays at his Church.
I am grateful for the time we did have together and will continue to think of him and love him as I did from the day of his conception.
His children could use prayers to help them through this loss as they are young teen agers and it is difficult at any age to lose a loving parent.
It is because of him that this website exists to help others. He always supported me in what he felt I needed to do even if he didn't agree with all of my views. The greatest gift he ever gave me was to never send me away.
He will be missed by many. He will now have peace.

I have only just joined this site having been watching for many years. I was very sorry to hear about your sad loss and I wish you and your son's family the strength to deal with their immense grief. For you it is of course a feeling of double loss, of the past and now the future. I have experienced this when my half-sister died two years ago, we had only known each other 3years. I asked for your advice several years ago and read your book, before I found myself uncontrollably drawn into my gsa relationship, and I hope I thanked you at that time for your help. This site has continued to be a source of great comfort to me and all who have been caught up in the turmoil of their seemingly 'unnatural' feelings for a relative. Take care Barbara.

Barb, you have done so much for us the least we can do is to pray that you and your grandchildren and their mother find the strength to live with such a painful loss, particularly over this holiday season. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so very sorry to read of the loss of your son. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you must be enduring at losing him for a second time. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I would like to thank you and honour the memory of your son for without your courage in sharing the experience of your reunion so many of us would have nowhere to turn to and no example or direction to follow. I will be forever grateful for the information and support I have received from this site.
With love

I feel for you. Just yesterday my own mother passed away. I loved my "mum" (as we called her) with all my heart and even now I still cannot believe that she's gone. I still expect to go over to my parents' (now parent's) house and see her sitting in the recliner with her dog "Nico" in her lap, ready to jump up and greet me with a smile and a hug and a kiss. It is an extremely hard thing to loose a loved one, especially a relative, and especially a mother, that person who concieved you, carried you, bore you, raised you, taught you and loved you without reservation. A loved one is a hard thing to lose and a blood relative even more so... May the Gods and Goddesses bless you and keep you and yours.
