I have spent all week searching for information and advice on what I've been feeling these past few months. I was so relieved to discover this site, I don't feel like I'm crazy or alone. I met my half brother for the first time in twenty years this summer and have fallen deeply in love with him. On our second meeting he confessed his feelings to me, which I thought was such a brave thing to do.
We talked all night about how we felt this need to be together, such a strong feeling that we had found what we had been searching for all our lives. I've never experienced such a deep and intense love and at times I've found it hard to deal with. All the thoughts of how happy I am, howlucky we are to have found each other, are marred by worries about wether it's 'wrong' or are we just being 'over emotional'. So to read such lovely stories of happiness is heartening to say the least.
I have confided in one friend who has supported me wholeheartedly and told me if we're happy then that's all that matters, but I know other people, including family members won't be so welcoming. His intention is to move closer to me (we are currently some 400 miles apart) and maintain separate houses as I have a seven year old son. Our father lives near to me and I see him regularly, this makes it difficult when Mike comes to visit as we have to have as much time to ourselves as possible, so I don't like the lying. But I know my father would be horrified if he discovered our relationship. I guess we just have to take things slowly and see how it develops. I wish everyone else lots of luck and happiness. |

| You're not doing anything wrong, just don't have kids together. |

Hi, thank you for input and emails, unfortunately my spam monster ate them before I could read them, but thank you for taking the time, it's much appreciated.
In response, no, we wouldn't have children, I have a son and my half brother has grown up children, so there's no desire to take that route. We spoke last night for three hours on the phone and I told him about the whole gsa concept and it seemed to take some of the pressure off of us, you know the need to try and find an answer, to justify our feelings, to explain them away. We are meeting up soon and that is something which I'm both looking forward to and am incredibly nervous about too. We have not yet slept together and I think at the moment that is hanging over us as it's the final commitment isn't it? Once we do that there is no turning back, and although it scares me, I know that's where we are heading as we want to have a full relationship.
I guess we just have to keep moving forward and talking. That seems to be the thing, I've never been in a relationship where I've talked so much and we just seem to have a completely different connection or bond, it just runs much deeper. I can see what Leia means about there being four people, anyway, thanks again and I'm only sorry I didn't get a chance to read the emails before the spam monster got them - I've splatted him now!! |

| Hi! My brother and i met four months ago at our dads funeral and also had similar experiences to you. we are also 400 miles apart! within days we had discussed our attraction to one another and spent weeks trying to control the uncontrollable urge to be together. However it wasn't possible and we are now having a relationship which is not only long distance but also secret and illegal. even so, it is still the most amazing experience of our lives. It feels so natural and right. We wish you all the best for the future. |

hello everyone
I have a saying " what you love always gets you in the end". Dont hold back, you cant pick who you fall in love with. It just happens, and when it happens with your sib, you'll find a love like no other. The intesity of this kind of love will never be experienced by a non sib couple. As far as children, I understand that you have no desire there. But ther is also a misconception about it. Children from incestous relationship are only subjected to abnormalties only when the incest has been from a long line of incestous rel. Unless your whole family has been products of incestual rel then the risk is not there. I have researched this subject for a long time. My brother and I have been together for 6 years and we have recently begun to start trying to get pregnant. You cant run from the truth of what u feel, so why waste time trying? Good luck to everyone and be gentle with yourselves. God didnt make adam and eve plus four other groups of people to mate with. At some point society said this was taboo but we all know that when searching for a mate we tend to look for someone like ourselves in the search, that is because it is natural.
I hope you will all allow yourselves the respect to give yourselves what you need. There is nothing that compares to a sib couple and when you allow yourselves, you will see this to be the truth.
