i found this web site from an article i read .... it was such a relief to know that i am not the only one in the world to experience gsa....i have spent the best 10 years of my life living with my bio father. we are both open minded and decided within a year of meeting that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We have not gone public but i am sure some close friends must suspect. I know society is not ready for our relationship, but someday maybe we will be abe to show our true feelings to the world!
So just to let you know that some of these relationships can and do survive......

How on earth have you managed for the last 10 years to keep things "a secret". I met my half-bro 2 years ago. I find it easier than what he does to keep my feelings to myself on the "outside" but it is so hard. It feels like you are having to switch on and off all the time. And then I feel sometimes that when I am in the "off" mode I can't switch on to the "on" mode.
Although, as you say, that you think some of your close friends have an idea, I am sure people do because if you have feelings of love for someone it is not really something that you can hide, is it? I feel so pleased that your relationship has lasted.
to be honest i have never really though about how i have never let anything slip out.......even if i was going out with a boyfriend I was never one to share the details with my friends.
AS you said though, I am sure close friends know i am in love........but
they are still there for me, and always ask how he is doing too? They have stayed over with us, so maybe i am just really lucky to have such friends....they are pretty special!!
How is your situation going with your bro?
I wish you all the happiness in the world and hope you can stay together.
Hi mar,
It sounds as though you do have a lot of very understanding friends. There's a couple of people I know that have the view that "Well ok, it's your life - I have no problem with it". But I think it's probably family that are more against things. It is very much a "secret". I just cannot risk loosing my children. When they get older I will sit down and explain things to them and HOPEFULLY they will accept and/or understand.
Things are ok between me & my bro, it's just being apart from each other than we don't really cope with. I live in hope that something will change so that maybe he could live nearer to me for the time being. I cannot move nearer to him because of my children - it would not be fair on them to be a long way away from their dad. I've been there!

Hi teenie,
i cannot imagine how hard it must be for you. There are no children involved with either of us, so I really can choose my own lifestyle.
I don't have any communication from my adopted family.....it was thought 'inappropriate' the amount of time we spent together.....apart from one aunt and her family who I am still in touch with. But if they cannot accept me and my choices then so be it.
Be strong, and as they say...'Love conquers all'. I am sure that someday your children will understand, and hopefully realise that you sacrificed your immediate happiness so that they could be.....
