How do we ~Let go ~

What does it MEAN to ~ let go? ~

How do we do it, when holding on feels so bitter sweet ?

What is it about the exquisite pain of grasping for something unattainable that keeps us so enthralled. ?

Why do we insist that there can be no other love for us, when we know that love abounds and surrounds us, if we could only allow ourselves to believe we deserve to feel it ?

How is it that we will walk towards something that we know will only hurt us, but somehow that HURT feeling is better than feeling nothing at all ?

Why do we Hold on, despite the pain, enduring the ache, wishing it would go away, but at the same time relishing at how alive it makes us feel, and how awake our senses have become ?

What does it mean to Let go ? What are we letting go of ? What do we loose when we let go ?

Can we TRUST that by letting go of a heavy burden, the lightness that followed would be exquisite and liberating ?

Why do we wish we could , but just cant ~TRUST ~ ?

What would it take for us to feel WHOLE even if we walked entirely alone ?

What does it feel like to be properly loved ?

How can we KNOW if someone really LOVES rather than Lusts us ?

Do we KNOW how to LOVE really truly deeply and without condition ?

If we allow ourselves to stop holding on is it possible that we might float ?

What would be GONE if We Let go ?

Wow, very probing & pertainent questions to ask ourselves. These type of questions are not to be explored by the faint of heart. Only those who are interested in getting to their "core issues", thus being able to bandage our primal wounds & heal, will deal with this type stuff. It's just much easier to throw stones at others (who may well deserve them), than to do the hard work of REAL & PROFOUND recovery for ourselves. Cycles will be continued, or broken, based on how we treat these probing & pertainent questions.

I think it's ironic that some of our most inspiration & influential leaders, would include asking questions, to inspire us to "turn on" the thought process? Questions seem to involve more participation & introspection, than merely hearing the answers. That must be why people like Jesus, Gandhi, & now, our very own Lostsister, have used this effective technique to help us.

People, we REALLY are fortunate here, in spite of our misery. There's hope here.--cedarforest

LostSister, the timing of your words is significant for me right now. I spent another long night grieving and trying to make sense of my pain and confusion after ending my relationship with my h/b this week, and this morning while driving, suddenly began thinking along these very lines. The source of much of my suffering during this GSA ordeal has been a deep grasping for love and fear of abandonment. Once I let go of my expectations, most of the battle with this pain is won. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It has helped me feel less alone and lost today!

Lostsister,

What a wonderful and though provoking post. I ask myself many of those questions on a near daily basis. I don't have the answers yet, but I'm hanging in there and just living day to day.

We tried to let go many many times. we spent years apart. we went to hell and back. But in the end, we just couldnt fight it. It never go,s away. you somehow have to try and deal with it and learn to with it. when your trying to let go, it feels like a bereavement. letting go is very hard.

It's VERY hard. But, I can tell you that, as Lostsister states, when we open our eyes & our heart to the wonderful things in the world, & the wonderful people who are willing to love us, rather than obsess on the one we simply must walk thru fire to have, then we gain a totally new perspective.

There's lots of things & lots of people to give us joy, if we simply open our hearts to it. AND, as Lost says, it begins with a profound realization that you DO deserve love. A LOVE THAT HEALS. It CAN be found, when you first learn to love yourself. When you understand how wonderful you are (& you are), it begins to change you. You no longer settle for things that will leave you empty & unfulfilled. Your standards change. It begins with a mindset, & it's not easy, & it's not always a smooth process. But it will work, if you work it. The harder the process is, the more fulfillment you will encounter, when it finally happens. Don't settle for less than what you deserve.--cedarforest
