New Son

Hi All

Not starting a thread in an attempt to stand out. Starting a thread to be self-centered in as I post and comment on other's lives in their own threads.

I cannot believe I haven't found this Forum before today

I've been online for so many years being a voyeur on the subject, and to be here, now, as an active participant is both relieving and frightening at the same time.

Loooonnnggggg story short... Am a son with Mom/Son feelings and fantasies. The complete story and background will reveal itself as this thread progresses (assuming it does.. you folks may not even care enuff to even post here, which is fine).

So, that being said, I pose this question...

How does an adult male cope with the Mom/Son fantasy that never materialized?

I find myself encouraging Moms I meet online to pursue what I truly believe exists in EVERY son, which is an attraction to his Mother, but... I am starting to fear I am wayyyyy out of line.

Hello Oedipus, I agree that most sons feel this strong attraction to their mothers as daughters do to their fathers. The problem is that this happens when we are babies and into childhood until we replace these feelings and put them on a partner or mate.

Since you have not shared your story, I don't know what your issue is, such as were you raised with your mother or separated and reunited. I feel the strorg GSA pull is due to the separation and the feelings that occur due to the loss of bonding time that would have occured in your childhood with your mother.

You say you have watched this subject for a long time. Why?

Even Oedipus didn't have an Oedipal complex

Hello Oedipus.

As I'm sure you're aware, judging by your screen name, an "Oedipal complex" is the name given by Sigmund Freud to the subconscious male desire to have sex with one's mother, and murder one's father.

But of course, Freud never met Edvard Westermarck, who showed that normally, boys don't want to have sex with their mother, or anyone else they have been raised in close proximity with in early childhood.

In the myth, Oedipus never meets his mother Jocasta until he is an adult. Hence he is able to fall in love with and marry her. This proves Westermarck was on the right track, and it's one strike against Freud, who should have paid closer attention to the nuances of the myth when naming his complexes.

So which are you? A real, Westermarckian Oedipus who has fallen in love with his mother after being reunited after long years of separation, or a Freudian Oedipus who just fantasizes about his mom?

Sorry to put it in those terms, but I get the impression that you've got us mixed up with somebody else.

Hello Barb - Thank you for the Forum!
Hello Osiris - Thank you for the knowledge.

I was completely unaware of Westermarckian and the existence of anything other than the Freudian Complex. Interesting outlooks on both sides apparently.

As briefly as I can possibly explain... Currently, I am not attracted to, nor want to, have sex with my Mother. I had always been interested in girls since the age of 5. I know this because all I ever did was chase the neighbor and school girls and even went so far as pull my neighbor's panties down to kiss "it". However it wasn't until about 10, on the verge of puberty, that I found myself watching Mom. She always wore loose tops with no bra and I couldn't help but put myself within line-sight to catch a glimpse of her when she bent. I also would pray for the days she and I were home alone and she would go shower. For a good couple of years I would always peek in on her then go masturbate. My parents did seperate fo a couple of years when I wa 5 & 6. I stayed with Mom and my brother stayed with Dad. It's during this time I experimented with masturbation and found myself attracted to the Mothers of my friends. However, my folks got back together and life went on as "normal" for the rest of my youth.

As I progressed through puberty, my attention to her waned and turned more to other girls and older women. For the most part, including my first experiences, I have always interacted with older women. In the last few years, I have felt this overwhelming obsession to bond with Mothers with sons. What I think I have done, given the new insights here thus far, is reverted back to being 10 & 11 and feeling sexual urges seeing Mom naked. What I want to do is cure my ignorance. I have convinced myself that all boys that age and into puberty want to have Mom as their first experience with everything. I fear I may be wrong now, and may be unwittingly putting families in harm's way.

Nevertheless, I still, to this day, find myself aroused by the idea of Mom and son having relations. I want to get to the true understanding of it.

I have my doubts as to wheter this site is for you. Just because we have sexual feelings doesn't mean we have GSA. I think you have us confused with someone who has not been affected by adoption or separation and going through stages of reunions.

I have to worry about those who just want to talk about sex in any fashion and think this is the site to do it. So maybe your concern should be addressed in another way or place.
