New and wondering..

First off, Hello everyone.

It took me awhile to find a place like this and even more time to decide if I wanted to say anything, but I think I have to.

I'll give a brief back history and then what I came here for.

My mother had me at a young age, her parent being very uptight couldn't bare the thought of their young daughter being a mother so convinced her to give me up for adoption. Nothing too strange there, but that all changed.

Fast forward to the present day. I met this wonderful woman that I felt something about different more then just attraction, it was deeper, but I put it aside to me being without a girlfriend for awhile. Anyway, me and this woman just took off, it started out a just hello's, a chat now and then, lunches together to finally dating and of course sex.

It was all great, cept for an odd feeling. During a talk it bomb of all bombs happened. This great woman, turned out to be my mother.

I'm sure there are question and details I left out.

My problem is that I know I'm told its wrong and I feel sick... I don't want it to stop either.

I feel so torn that like I'm losing my mind.

Anyway, I need to stop. I needed to get this out, but I feel drained in doing so. Thanks for following along.

OK, that seems like quite a hand full. If i understood what you said correctly, the meet up was accidental and therefore you created a relationship with your mother by accident. I'm ofcourse not saying that is a bad thing what so ever! What i mean is, you fell for that woman before you truley knew who she was. So it is a social taboo...for now. You obviously felt a strong connection with this woman and wanted to be with her in some sense, ofcourse i can't say because i'm obviously no further involved then through what i've previously read. Anyway, don't you think you owe it to yourself to pursue this great relationship? Don't act like there is nothing there when you know very well that there is. DO NOT try to stop what should not be stopped. You have something very special and i'm sure you have realized that by now. GSA comes with some very strong emotions...some that you will never find in any other relationship. Do not deny yourself love or what ever feelings you have towards your mother. Like i said, you're relationship grew before you knew who she really was and now that you know, there is no reason to stop. NO ONE can tell you who you can and can't love, no matter what anyone says. Just remember that love cannot disappear no matter how hard you want it too. We are all here for you and many people here have gone through what you have. You will never be alone as long as you know that you have this community. Goodluck my friend and i wish you the best.

Thanks for your words and yes you are right. I'm glad I have a place to talk about this. I did meet her my accident and the feelings came naturally. Guess I'm too afraid of what the world would think.

You need to figure out what it is that you want to do. What kind of a relationship do you want to have with her? If you want to end the romantic aspect of your relationship then you've one set of problems to face. If you do not want to end it, then you have a different group of problems to deal with.

How did you two come to realize that you were mother and son?

Does anyone else know?

How does she feel about all of this?

Ok, update and some questions to answer.

We came to discover we were mother and son, through some early morning talking. We were talking about our pasts when she mentioned giving up a child for adoption. I said funny cause I was adopted. The more we talked, it was clear.

No one else knows, but us at the moment.

She is ok with it, I was avoiding her but she kept calling and e-mailing me telling me she loves me and who cares.

Now for the update. After thinking, soul-searching and talking to many wonderful people here, I made a decision.

We are going to live a lovers and are moving in together. I love her, I am going to love her and I can't pretend I don't. So she is my real mother, I didn't know that when I fell in love with her. I'm not going to deny these feelings we have, it would be silly.

It's going to be hard but that is the path we are going to walk. I just thought I owed it to you all to tell you.

Just remember: the woman who raised you is your mom. Tell no one of the real relationship between the love of your life and and you. Everything, will be fine. I have it from a good friend in the DA's office in a county in Illinos that the State of Illinios no longer pursues incest cases where the two of you met as adults and the sex was mutually consentual. There is no move yet to make that an "official" position, as to do so would be to open a pandora's box inviting GSA couples to seek the right to wed. But they will not bother you if you cohabitate. For those of you in the US wanting that right...here is your out.

Yeah, but who wants to live in Illinois?

I'm kidding. That's good information, Victor, thanks.

Also, if no one but the two of you are aware of your relationship, PROVING that you know of that relationship is going to be difficult.

Ignorance of the law is no defense, but ignorance of your blood relationship is a defense against incest charges.

Just don't put anything down in writing that refers to your blood relationship, and don't EVER tell ANYONE about it. Private journals, emails, etc, etc can be subject to search and seizure, so be safe.

Does your birth certificate list your A-parents or your biological parents?

Do either of your possess any documentation that would lead a reasonable person to conclude that you knew, or SHOULD have known, about your blood relationship?

How much documentation exists is going to dictate how careful you have to be.

There isn't really any paper work at all that links us. My birth cert, lists my adopted parents.

No one but us knows this, we plan on keeping it that way.

There is only ONE paper that proves anything, but it really wouldn't be obvious to anyone else.
