I'm glad you feel better for writing down your feelings here.

What you are feeling is not unusual and it happens to most of us one time or another in our lives. We meet cousins and have crushes or other relatives that we find share a lot in common with us and we feel drawn to them.

It is best to remember that it is one thing to have feelings and yet another to act on them.

I'm sure you are aware that if you made advances on your uncle it wouldn't be any different than having an affair with someone you felt attracted to. If he agreed, then think of the ripple affect it would have in your own life and of all the rest of your families.

We can all fantasize and become attracted but if we acted on every attraction we ever had, it would be a disater.

Try and focus on what it is about him that you like so much that you don't think you received from other relationships. What is it about him that makes him the one you picked out in the family to be drawn to? Is it because you have a lot in common? Do you see your own characteristics in him?

If you had grown up in this family, would he have always been a favorite relative that you would have felt close to?

These are some pondering points. The fact that you now feel that you belong in this family and are comfortable around them, is wonderful. I hope you never lose that feeling.

Yeah he probably would be a favourite Uncle because he is an oldest child too and he's just a really nice guy.

I wouldn't dream of making an advance I'm married for starters. I just felt ashamed at my innapropriate thoughts but I suppose for adoptees they are occasionally normal.

My life is back to normal now and next time I see the man I'll just be enjoying his pleasant company. I hope its not at another funeral that's for real.
