Unhappy Half-Brother& Sister

I was adopted, I always knew about my family. Finally, I found them on myspace& now I met them in person. I'm pretty much in love with my brother& he feels the same.

What kind of relationships are legal in Washington State for a half-blood brother& sister to have? help @__@ I'm confused !!

Here is what the "Revised Code of Washington" State (RCW) says about the crime of "adult" incest:

Incest.

(1)(a) A person is guilty of incest in the first degree if he or she engages in sexual intercourse with a person whom he or she knows to be related to him or her, either legitimately or illegitimately, as an ancestor, descendant, brother, or sister of either the whole or the half blood.

(b) Incest in the first degree is a class B felony.

(2)(a) A person is guilty of incest in the second degree if he or she engages in sexual contact with a person whom he or she knows to be related to him or her, either legitimately or illegitimately, as an ancestor, descendant, brother, or sister of either the whole or the half blood.

(b) Incest in the second degree is a class C felony.

(3) As used in this section:

(a) "Descendant" includes stepchildren and adopted children under eighteen years of age;

(b) "Sexual contact" has the same meaning as in RCW 9A.44.010; and

(c) "Sexual intercourse" has the same meaning as in RCW 9A.44.010.
P.S....I can look up any state or federal law in the US, and in various countries, if you want. This particular search took me all of 10 minutes.

CLUE: Google....and a knowledge of legal terms and codes and the Cornell Law Library on-line.

Sorry, but every state is a little different in the structure of their titles and codes (laws). You have to have an inkling of what you are doing and what you are looking for to find some of this stuff. For example, under Iowa code, Incest is it's own legal catagory, while under the Revised Code of Washington it falls under family codes. I'm something of a student of constitutional law, so I have an advantage here that most do not.

How about this?

Wikipedia states that Sweden allows marriage of h/b and h/s. Louisiana state law RS 14:78 says :-

§78. Incest

A. Incest is the marriage to, or sexual intercourse with, any ascendant or descendant, brother or sister, uncle or niece, aunt or nephew, with knowledge of their relationship.

B. The relationship must be by consanguinity, but it is immaterial whether the parties to the act are related to one another by the whole or half blood.

C. This Section shall not apply where one, not a resident of this state at the time of the celebration of his marriage, shall have contracted a marriage lawful at the place of celebration and shall thereafter have removed to this state.

D.(1) Whoever commits incest, where the crime is between an ascendant and descendant, or between brother and sister, shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not more than fifteen years.

(2) Whoever commits incest, where the crime is between uncle and niece, or aunt and nephew, shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than five years, or both.

Acts 1985, No. 706, §1; Acts 2004, No. 26, §8

According to subsection C one could marry their h/sibling in a country that allows it (in this case, Sweden) and then move to Louisiana and live there as man and wife legally.

Any thoughts?

I agree. That is what that part of the law states.

I've only checked 15 States so far.

(It is almost 100% certain that no State will allow any h/s-h/b to marry but possibly, like Louisianna, allow that couple to live there if lawfully married anywhere else).
