Reunions can be complicated and extremely emotional. Educating others about GSA before they reunite will provide a greater chance of successfully navigating through the GSA phenomenon with less complications.
Often times, those who experience GSA become isolated. Who can they talk to about GSA? Communicating about the intensity of GSA to others who can respond adequately can help release some of the stress and confusion.
Genetic Sexual Attraction or GSA occurs between two adults who have been separated during the critical years of development and bonding and are reunited years later. GSA begins with a fractured family where a parent/child or brother/sister do not bond as nature intended. When these ‘strangers’ finally meet, the brain struggles to associate each other as family. Instead, they become captivated with one another, sharing similar physical features, likes and dislikes.
As a result, the unexpected attraction initiates GSA. An attraction to a kin member that is involuntary and overwhelming, is shocking and yet feels so natural to those who experience GSA. The bonding process that was designed for family establishment has now ambushed the reunited family members to fall in love as adults. It is experienced as a need to connect through physical, emotional and mental bonding; resulting in the reunited family members entangled in a web of love, lust, need, and attachment.
It can be embarrassing, confusing, amazing, overwhelming, extremely frustrating, and perplexing as each individual experiencing genetic attraction is bewildered by the immensity of yearning to unite and secure the bond that has been missing from their lives thus far and now seems impossible to live without. GSA profoundly disrupts peoples' lives and established families.
